The entries will be judged by a panel
of literary judges
and the winners will be printed online on 9th January
1999
Conditions of
entry
- The minimum age limit is
16.
- Entries must be submitted or
postmarked by 1st December 1998.
- The entry fee is
£2.50 for each poem.
- Poems must be submitted in
English.
- Each competitor may enter as
many poems as they wish in any style up to 40 lines per
poem.
- Poems must be the original work
of the entrant.
- Poems must not have been
published in a book, or been a prizewinner in a
competition (poems that have been published in journals
or magazines are accepted).
- Two copies of each poem must be
submitted, each typed in black on a single sheet of A4
size on white unlined paper, and must not bear the name
of the author.
- Entries are judged anonymously
and entries should be accompanied by a separate sheet of
paper with the entrant's name and address and a list of
poem titles and first lines.
- Poems are regarded as copies
and cannot be returned.
- Copyright remains with the
author.
- Any entrant not complying with
the Conditions of Entry will be disqualified.
- No one may win more than one
prize per competition.
- All entries should be submitted
via the Competition Entry Form.
- The 1st prize must be taken
during 1999.
